The best bakery I’ve been to in a long time 🙌hands down! From the moment I opened the door and heard the charming little chimes, I was greeted with a warm smile and a sense that something special was about to happen. Hillcrest Bakery is a step above the rest. The elegant displays of decadent treats are absolutely mesmerizing. I almost forgot how to speak 🤩there were so many delightful options to choose from! I ordered my go-to iced Americano, along with an apple fritter and a maple Boston cream doughnut. Let me tell you 😋these pastries weren’t just made to look good. They were the real deal. My apple fritter was like biting into a soft, decadent pillow generously packed with tender apple pieces, and the glaze stayed on beautifully with every bite. But the real showstopper? The maple Boston cream. I’ve never had anything like it. Instead of overly sweet whipped filling, it was filled with rich, velvety custard and topped with true maple flavor balanced perfectly and tucked into the fluffiest dough. It’s clear this bakery puts immense care into both their craft and their customers. The quality, the passion, the love 😍 it all shines through in every bite. I live up in Lake Stevens, but I’ll happily make the drive down to Bothell just to treat myself here. This place has been part of downtown Bothell for as long as I can remember, and I’m grateful it’s still here. There’s something special about having a bakery on Main Street that’s been serving this town for decades. I usually go for the bread — the 100% whole wheat and the sourdough are staples in our house. Fresh, simple, and consistently good. I try to pick up a loaf every week or so, and it never disappoints. In a world of chains and quick turnover, it means a lot to have a spot like this still baking bread the old-fashioned way. We’re lucky to have them.

My husband and I loved our experience at Hillcrest! We ordered our baby announcement cake from them and we were floored! I went in with a very simple idea and they exceeded my expectations completely! They asked if I would want little bees on the cake and I was surprised with the most adorable beehive cake! I think about this cake at least twice a week. Not only was it beautiful, it was one of the best cakes I’ve eaten in my life!! I shared it with my family- some of whom are self described frosting haters- and they agreed it was the best frosting they ever had! We’re currently in the process of ordering from them for our baby shower and my husband has declared for every birthday our daughter has, we’re ordering a cake from Hillcrest! 15/10- could not be more pleased :)

I was looking for a princess cake and smash cake for my one year old and my co-worker recommended this place for cakes - she had her wedding cake here over 30 years ago! I have had their pastries before (amazing) but never cake however I decided to book with Hillcrest after discussing with their bakers Michele and Elise that they could execute my vision of a vintage pink-white-gold cake. Additionally, they could deliver which was amazing since many bakeries do not, or want a minimum spend. They helped me with the overwhelming cake options and answered all my questions. I ordered a two tiered 6” White cake with strawberry custard filling + 10” Chocolate cake with raspberry custard filling and a 6” Heart white cake with strawberry mousse filling for the smash cake. On the day of the event, Peter delivered the two tiered cake however his cake slip (which he showed me) did not include the second heart cake. Not to be deterred, he professionally and apologetically went back to check and was able to find the second cake and deliver on time! I am still so happy that I ordered from Hillcrest. When I finally got to eat the cake - oh. my. word.... the cake itself was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved it. I prefer the "not too sweet" kind (Korean/Taiwanese cakes) but the cake was soft and the custard fillings were the perfect pair. The buttercream was sweet, but not overly sweet like the kind you get from a supermarket. I froze a portion of the cake, took it out a week later ,and it was still just as good as the first slice! I highly recommend a cake from Hillcrest and appreciate how everything came together.

The people that work here are so nice. I loved coming in to get my mom’s birthday cake, the employees were so kind and even held the door open for me when I left. Wonderful people and exceptional service. I was so happy about how nice everyone was I forgot to mention the cake haha. Cake was beautiful! And we loved it :) Thank you guys! Your kind happy selves make a huge difference- please know that and how appreciated you are!

They have so many options to choose from and everything looked so delectable. I got three kinds of pastries and sausage rolls. Everything tastes delicious too! Highly recommend visiting this place. 😋

From the cake tasting to their final delivery, they provided all my wife and I could have asked for to make our wedding cake special. Their professional customer service was not only helpful but they were also able to work with us by both phone and email after our initial meeting. Give them a shot, and you won't regret it!

I originally came for donuts as a sweet treat as mornings are my night. the variety was amazing , I was able to choose 2 desserts which are both amazing ( carrot cake and chocolate on chocolate cake ) . The lady working the bakery was very sweet and seemed like all the regulars in front of me she knew by name which shows the overall experience . Would definitely recommend and come again

Hillcrest Bakery absolutely exceeded every expectation! Our wedding cake was everything we had hoped for and more. Not only was it absolutely beautiful, but it tasted incredible. We received so many compliments from our guests, and people kept coming back to tell us how delicious it was. The design was exactly what I had envisioned. They brought my inspiration to life perfectly, and it fit our wedding aesthetic so beautifully. It was one of those details that was almost too pretty to cut into! If you're looking for a bakery that creates cakes that are just as delicious as they are beautiful, I can't recommend Hillcrest Bakery enough. Thank you for making such a gorgeous centerpiece that tasted every bit as amazing as it looked. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding cake!

I have been in a few times for treats and coffee and it is always stellar and affordable compared to other local places and chains. I recently ordered a custom peanut-butter-cup cake and the ordering process was smooth and clear, and the result was phenomenal. Tasted amazing and looked beautiful. They clearly put care and talent into all of their work.
